Common Ingredients

If you’re going to be cooking keto-friendly foods, there are few ingredients that have become staples of mine. Hopefully you’ll find a recipe you like, and make it yourself! Save yourself some time and stock up on the following (I’ve linked to what I use):

That’s pretty much it. You’ll always need specific things for recipes, but the above items are used most commonly. The most important ones are the first three – almond flour, almond meal, and coconut oil.

Almond Flour: you can bake and cook with it pretty much similar to standard wheat flour, but the carb count is much lower. It is also gluten-free, so good for those of you that have an intolerance! It is also rich in vitamin E, magnesium, and potassium.

Almond Meal: I use this in place of bread crumbs or panco for similar reasons to using almond flour.

Coconut Oil: Wonderful source of fat. Since keto is high-fat, and I’m not one to just randomly eat chunks of butter or down some salad dressing, this is a great way to add healthy fat into your diet.
